Mapto, the most important farmers' union in Togo, campaigns for the rights of agricultural workers.
The project particularly improves the precarious situation of auxiliary workers who help with cultivation and harvesting on a daily or weekly basis. It supports them in organising themselves, strengthens mutual understanding between farmers and auxiliary workers regarding their respective rights and obligations, and works with the parties involved to develop recommended prices for all services.
In addition, the project supports producers of plantains, which are in high demand in Togo, to improve their production and thus their incomes and living conditions.
